August Favorites 2015

Well, it has been a very long time! I'm sure I will eventually post about why I have been MIA for so long but the good news is that I am back and posting every Monday. And what better way to get back into blogging than my August Favorites! When I think of June and July, I think of fun summer beach trips, bonfires, and s'mores. When I think of August however, I think of a sultry sweaty tropical vacation that may or may not involve a James Bond-esque love affair. I think the reason I have this image for August is that it is the month in Southern California where our weather goes from hot and dry to hot and humid. I don't know why but hot and humid makes me think love affair. I would say that this group of favorites reflects that!

Wild Madagascar Vanilla Body Scrub This stuff smells amazing! For me, it smells like that sultry vacation I was talking about. It has a rich deep vanilla scent that is nice and strong but not too sweet. It lathers well so I don't feel like I am using heaps of product in the shower and it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. I will definitely be repurchasing!

Serious Serum I have been using Serious Serum off and on for a few years now but only grew to truly appreciate it this past month. I was originally recommended it for keratosis pilaris as I get little patches on my arms. This summer, I noticed I was getting some patches on my thighs and they were only getting more agitated with a frequent summer shaving routine. This stuff saved the day! Almost immediatly after putting some on, the bumps would disappear and my skin would be incredibly smooth. It seems like it has a large price tag but the bottle lasts for months.

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream So I talked about another Burt's Bees product in my last favorites and that is simply because I love them! My face and lips get super duper dry in summer. Like no exaggeration, my lips peel almost every day. So I need a really good moisturizer! This cream is very thick but doesn't suffocate your face. It also doesn't make your skin oily which I know is a massive plus for a lot of people.

Tarte Park Ave Princess Bronze & Glow I am definitely a fan of Tarte products and Bronze & Glow was no exception. For summer, I don't usually wear foundation and if I do, I am wearing a tinted moisturizer. I try to keep my face looking light, dewy, and glowing which is exactly what this product does. The cheek tint is a gorgeous shimmery pink and the bronzer is a nice rich shade. I have received so many compliments on my cheeks this month and it is because of this product!

OPI Euro Centrale Nail Lacquer in My Vampire is Buff Not only does this color have a pretty sassy name but it also looks amazing. I love this polish for the end of summer as it looks great on golden hands and feet. Even if you only got a bit of color in the sun, My Vampire is Buff will bring out even the slightest tan. I also think it looks fabulous when you are burying your toes in the sand.

Signature Soy Sun Kissed Coconut Container Candle This candle captures exactly what I think August smells like. Between this candle and the body scrub, I feel like I am on a tropical getaway and all I need is a gorgeous man. Signature Soy candles burn really cleanly (no black smoke) and smell delicious. I'm not exactly sure how long they burn for but I have been using this one all month and still have a third to go!

Leave a comment and let me know what you think of these favorites! Also, mention one of your August favorites. Hope everyone is having a great start to September!

    1. Thank you! So far Burt's Bees is what works best for my skin. The only other moisturizer I like is Lush and I think Burt's Bees works just as good.

    1. Thank you! You are supposed to exfoliate in a circular motion to actually get rid of the bumps. But the serum definitely keeps them away.
